The aim of the programme is to ensure that license categories are kept up to date with the constantly changing market conditions. We would like to encourage you as manufacturers, distributors and retailers to submit any suggestions for the development of new specifications. We will then assess the viability of these suggestions and incorporate them into our product categories going forwards.
Environmental Choice New Zealand follows the ISO 14024 standard "Environmental labels and declarations - Guiding principles." This requires that environmental labelling specifications include specifications that are objective, reasonable and verifiable. Further, it requires that interested parties have an opportunity to participate and have their comments considered. The environmental specifications shall be set based on an evaluation of the environmental impacts during the actual product's life cycle.
